State Government - the following tasks due Tuesday Jan, 22

Read Chapter 23 section 2

You need to outline the responsibilities and powers of the branches of state government.  Do this by making an itemized list.

For the Legislative branch
            Research Oregon:
                        Bicameral?
                        How many members?
                        Who represents Bend?
                        Find an article relating to one of our bend’s state legislators
                                    Summarize the article – how can the article be used in class to illustrate the role  of legislator?

For the Executive branch
            Research Oregon:
                        Who is our Governor?
                        How many terms?  Are there limits on the number he can serve?
                        Find an article on the governor
                                    Summarize the article – how can the article be used in class to illustrate the role of executive (governor)?

For the judicial
            How many justices on the Oregon Supreme Court?
            Find a recent Oregon Supreme Court decision and explain how it impacted our state?
